Construction works have commenced in earnest at Ugwuogo-Akor road in Nike, Enugu East Local Government area of Enugu state, courtesy of the House of Reps member representing the great people of Enugu East/Isiuzo federal constituency.
The over 10 kilometer road, which is now wearing a new look after many years of neglect, is targeted at boosting economic activities in the rural areas through the expansion of additional access routes within communities in Enugu East/Isiuzo federal constituency.
On Thursday, members of the community woke up to behold the equipment of the contractor handling the project embarking on intensive earthworks on the village roads.
The residents showered encomiums on Prof. Paul Nnamchi, saying the road and other infrastructural projects facilitated by the Labour Party (LP) Rep member has changed their story for good.
The rural dwellers extolled the lawmaker for what they described as “inclusive representation,” noting that Prof. Nnamchi has started on a good note.
A member of the community, Caleb Ugwu who spoke to Daily Gazette correspondent, said the electorates of Enugu East/Isiuzo federal constituency were satisfied with the project.
