The Anambra State Government has announced the adoption of United Nations guidelines, mandating schools to conclude daily academic activities by 2:30 p.m.
According to the State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, this decision aims to provide schoolchildren with sufficient time for rest and interaction with their parents on a daily basis.

The statement, released on Monday in Awka, underscores the government’s commitment to prioritizing the well-being and holistic development of students within the state.
“All school heads in the state are to adhere to this directive and ensure closure of all daily academic activities at 2.30 p.m.,” she said.
According to the official, the new closing time will enable schoolschildren to be at home by 3.00 p.m.
