The Kano State Government has issued an apology to National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu following an unfounded accusation regarding his involvement in the emirship tussle in the state.

Advertorial

Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo had previously alleged that Ribadu played a role in facilitating the return of the dethroned 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero. Ribadu, denying any involvement, threatened legal action against the deputy governor.

In a press briefing at the Government House on Sunday, Gwarzo retracted his earlier statement and extended an apology to Ribadu.

“We investigated further and found out that we were deeply misled. On behalf of the State Government, we wish to apologize to the NSA,” Gwarzo stated.

The deputy governor emphasized that the initial accusation was based on incorrect information, and the government regrets any distress caused by the erroneous claim.
