Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has forwarded the names of 21 individuals to the State House of Assembly for consideration as Transition Committee (TC) Chairmen.
This action, in accordance with Section 208 of the Local Government Law 1999 as amended (Number 6 Law of 2012), marks the beginning of a three-month tenure for these local government officials. Advertorial
The nominees for TC Chairmen include Dr. Chibuike Ofobuike for Aguata, Sir Ifeanyi Chiweze for Anambra East, Mr. Fidelis Nnazo for Anambra West, Mr. Romanus Chukwuma Ibekwe for Anaocha, Mr. ThankGod Chibuike Anagor for Awka North, Mr. Chinedu Okafor for Awka South, Mr. Alphonsus Ofumele for Ayamelum, Barr. Chijoke Clement Ozumba for Dunukofia, Mr. James Chimezie Obi for Ekwusigo, and Mr. Stanley Nkwoka for Idemili North.

Upon receipt of the letter, the Speaker of the Anambra Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, referred it to the Chairman of the Screening Committee, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye, the Deputy Speaker.
The Speaker urged the committee to complete their screening and report back to the House on the next adjourned date.
The Assembly adjourned its session and will reconvene on Thursday, June 20, 2024, to further deliberate on the matter.
