“You will operate in a complex and diverse environment. Maintain professionalism, discipline, and respect for human rights. Your conduct will reflect on Nigeria’s image,” he stated.
Sinjen also highlighted the Nigerian Army’s zero-tolerance policy regarding sexual exploitation, abuse, drug trafficking, and abuse, warning that any personnel found guilty of such offences would face severe consequences.
Sinjen expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, for his commitment to enhancing the effectiveness of peacekeeping troops through realistic training.
Earlier, Major General Ademola Adedoja, Commandant of MLAILPKC, noted that the PDT, which began on May 19, was designed to prepare the contingent for contemporary peacekeeping operations in Guinea-Bissau.
The training included lectures on the security challenges in Guinea-Bissau and exercises to equip the troops with the necessary knowledge and tactical skills.
