The Ogun State Government has addressed the status of the uncompleted Ogun State City Centre (OSCC) project located in the Abeokuta Central Business District.
The site, formerly part of the state’s old secretariat, was intended to host a shopping mall, banking facilities, a hotel, an amphitheater, service apartments, and the central station for the Federal Government’s rail project.

The project, meant to be driven by the private sector, was initiated during the tenure of former Governor Ibikunle Amosun but has remained unfinished since he left office in 2019.
Despite the ambitious plans, construction halted just before Amosun handed over to Governor Dapo Abiodun.
The last major event at the site was Amosun’s farewell ceremony on May 28, 2019, attended by prominent figures from the Yoruba movie industry.

At a recent press conference held at the Chief Olusegun Osoba Press Centre in Abeokuta, Commissioner for Housing Jamiu Omoniyi revealed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) are investigating the project.
Omoniyi noted that the current administration has struggled to uncover details about the project due to the secrecy surrounding it.
Omoniyi refrained from providing further information, citing the ongoing investigations by the EFCC and ICPC as the reason for his discretion.
