The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced that students from 36 state-owned tertiary institutions are now eligible to apply for student loans starting Sunday, July 7, 2024.
NELFUND confirmed that the management of these institutions has successfully submitted their student data to the NELFUND Student Verification System (SVS).

This development was shared via a post on the Fund’s X handle on Sunday.
The loan application process for state institutions had previously been delayed by two weeks due to insufficient data submissions.
Several state-owned institutions had initially failed to upload the necessary student data and fee information to the NELFUND SVS.
The Fund has urged all remaining state-owned tertiary institutions to promptly submit their complete student data to ensure their students can benefit from the loan scheme.
