Lt. Col. Nurudeen Yusuf, Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is set to receive his staff of office as the next Elemona of Ilemona in Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State on Saturday.
Daily Gazette previously reported the selection of the senior military officer by the kingmakers to succeed his late father, Oba Yusuf Omokanye Oyekanmi, who passed away at 95 in May.

The Kwara State government subsequently ratified this decision.
Confirming the development, Kwara State Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Community Development, Hon. Abdullahi Abubakar Bata, affirmed that Lt. Col. Yusuf has accepted the appointment.
“Yes, it is true, he (Yusuf) will receive the staff of office any moment from now,” stated the commissioner.

A former member of the state House of Assembly from Oyun, who preferred anonymity, also corroborated the news, mentioning that after his installation, the new monarch intends to appoint a regent to act in his stead until his retirement from military service.
“He is expected to leverage his expertise in security matters and his education to advance the interests of his people,” the former lawmaker added.

While preparations for the ceremony were scheduled to begin at 11 am, a source from the government house indicated that proceedings had yet to commence as of the time of reporting.
