Operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) in Kano have arrested a key figure involved in the kidnapping of Hajiya Hauwa’u Adamu, mother of prominent political singer Dauda Kahutu Rarara.

A high-ranking source within the Command revealed that one suspect was killed during the operation, and N26.5 million was recovered.
The tactical team, acting on reliable intelligence, confronted a group of five bandits in the Makarfi bushes while they were dividing the ransom money.
“One suspect, Hamisu Tukur, sustained gunshot wounds and is currently in custody, while another, Bature, was fatally shot,” the source reported.

The kidnapping took place three weeks ago when armed men broke into Hajiya Hauwa’u Adamu’s residence in Kahutu.
She was held captive for 20 days before being released.
