Four individuals are feared missing after being swept away by floodwaters in Nnewi North Local Government Area, Anambra State, following heavy rains that began late Thursday.
The torrential downpour continued through Friday and Saturday, causing severe flooding in the industrial community.

Among the missing are a mother and her child, who were reportedly caught in the floodwaters while returning from a church service.
Community sources indicate that the incidents occurred at various locations in the town, creating widespread panic.
“Two persons were swept away in Nnewichi, one along Nnobi Road, and another on Nnewi-Onitsha Road,” a source detailed.

Family members of the victims have since been frantically searching for their loved ones.
Dr. Madu Atueny, President-General of Nzuko-Ora (Nnewi Town Union), acknowledged hearing about the incident but stated he has yet to confirm the details.
State police spokesman SP Tochukwu Ikenga announced that an investigation into the incident will be initiated.
