The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in all local government areas in Ebonyi State’s local council polls, held on Saturday.
The Ebonyi Independent Electoral Commission (EBSIEC) announced the results on Sunday, confirming APC’s sweep of all 13 Chairmanship seats and 171 Ward Councillor positions.

Jossey Eze, Chairman of EBSIEC, made the announcement in Abakaliki. He noted that three political parties—APC, APGA, and LP—participated in the elections.
The commission ratified and adopted the results as announced by the returning officers of the respective councils and wards.

Eze expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the election and commended the security agencies and stakeholders for their support.
He specifically thanked the state government for not interfering in the electoral process, contributing to a credible, free, and fair election.
“The election has been won and lost, but the victory is for everybody who participated. The winners should carry everyone along to deliver democratic dividends to the grassroots, which the local government areas represent,” Eze stated.

He listed the winners for various local government areas: Ebere Nwogba for Abakaliki LGA, Timothy Agha for Afikpo, Chima Ekumamkama for Edda council, Chinedu Bernard for Ebonyi LGA, Moses Nome for Ezza, Sunday Nwankwor for Ikwo, and Emmanuel Ajah for Ivo, among others.
