According to Udo, Michael has been placed under suspension and subjected to internal disciplinary processes since the allegations emerged in May 2024.

The NIS is fully supporting the court proceedings to determine Michael’s culpability and will await the court’s judgment before making further comments to avoid sub judice.

“The Service reaffirms its commitment to excellent service delivery, discipline, and zero tolerance for criminality and will not hesitate to sanction any officer whose conduct is contrary to these ideals,” Udo added.
