Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, has passed away. The announcement was made on Thursday by his son, Jide Iwuanyanwu.

According to the statement, the 82-year-old Iwuanyanwu died on Thursday, July 25, 2024, following a brief illness.
The Iwuanyanwu family, from Umuohii Atta in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, confirmed his death.
The statement reads: “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved patriarch, Engr. Chief Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu-Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo. He died on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the age of 82. At the time of his death, he was serving as President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide and President of the Owerri Peoples Assembly.”
Chief Iwuanyanwu is survived by his wife, Lady Princess Frances Iwuanyanwu, and his children and grandchildren.
The family will release details about the burial arrangements after further consultations.
