In the Federal Capital Territory, 23-year-old Rahimat Salaum has been accused of murdering her husband, Shehu, during a domestic altercation.

According to a statement from the FCT Command spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, Rahimat was apprehended by the Nigeria Police Force on July 29, 2024, after attempting to flee with her husband’s belongings.

The police, acting on reliable information, arrested her around 6:00 p.m. in Pegi, Abuja.

Rahimat confessed to the crime during interrogation, revealing that she had killed her husband after a dispute.

She then led the police to an uncompleted building where she had disposed of the burnt corpse.

FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh, assured that justice would be pursued in the case.

He also urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police emergency lines.

The investigation into the case is ongoing.
