On Saturday, police in Abuja arrested several protesters at the Moshood Abiola Stadium.

The arrests took place outside the stadium, which had been designated as the official protest venue after authorities denied access to Eagle Square.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) authorities had secured a court order confining the protesters to the stadium.

Despite this, protesters initially avoided the venue in the early hours but began regrouping around 11 a.m.

As the crowd started to form, police fired gunshots and deployed tear gas to disperse them. In the process, police arrested all individuals present, including journalists.

The journalists were later released but were ordered to leave the area immediately.
