The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has officially announced that Augustine Eguavoen will continue as the head coach of the Super Eagles, while Justin Madugu is set to take over as coach of the Super Falcons.

This decision was confirmed in a statement from the NFF’s communications department.

The statement revealed that the Executive Committee has approved the recommendation from its Technical and Development Sub-Committee for Eguavoen to lead the Super Eagles in their upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Libya next month.

Eguavoen, who has previously led the national team three times, recently guided the Super Eagles to a convincing 3-0 victory over Benin Republic and a scoreless draw with Rwanda in their first two qualifying matches earlier this month.

Alongside Eguavoen, the current technical staff—including Fidelis Ilechukwu, Daniel Ogunmodede, Olatunji Baruwa, and Tomaz Zorec—will also oversee the Super Eagles B team in the qualifying campaign for the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN).

In light of Randy Waldrum’s departure, the NFF has appointed Coach Justin Madugu to lead the Super Falcons, with the support of the existing technical team, until a permanent head coach is appointed.

The Super Falcons are preparing for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations finals, scheduled to be held in Morocco in the summer of next year.
