The Rivers State Police Command has sealed the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) office, casting uncertainty over the upcoming local government elections scheduled for October 5, 2024.

This move comes in response to a Federal High Court injunction, which ordered the suspension of all electoral activities in the state.

The ruling also prohibits security agencies from offering any support or participating in the election process on the scheduled date.

Reports from the scene show a significant police presence around the RSIEC office, with officers ensuring no electoral activities are conducted within the premises.
