In response to the ongoing crisis in Lebanon, the Federal Government has initiated plans to evacuate Nigerians who wish to return home.
The process began with a multi-stakeholder meeting in Abuja to assess the situation of Nigerians in Lebanon and to finalize preparations for the evacuation effort.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), which is coordinating the evacuation, stated that it has started mobilizing citizens in Lebanon and will soon fulfill all necessary requirements to bring them safely back to Nigeria.
According to a NEMA statement, the Nigerian community leader in Lebanon confirmed, via a phone call, that the Nigerian Mission in Lebanon has been instrumental in facilitating the safe movement of citizens out of high-risk areas. Fortunately, no Nigerian casualties have been reported.

NEMA has also urged Nigerians who wish to be evacuated to visit the Nigerian embassy in Beirut for profiling ahead of the airlift back home.
