A section of the Ikwerre Local Government Council secretariat has been set on fire, escalating tensions in the area.
This is the second local government office to be targeted today, following an earlier arson attack at the Eleme Local Government Council secretariat.
The fire occurred shortly after the Inspector-General of Police ordered the withdrawal of officers who had been stationed at local government secretariats to prevent unrest.
