McPherson University has appointed Mrs. Aderonke Adeofun as its second Bursar, taking over from Mr. Ademola Osanyinro, who had been serving in an acting capacity since 2023.
Adeofun’s appointment, which was confirmed in a letter dated August 26, 2024, was approved by the university’s Board of Trustees and signed by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Dr. Babatunde Idowu.

According to a statement released on Sunday, October 20, 2024, by the institution’s acting Head of Information and Public Relations, Ehi Emhonyon, Adeofun officially assumed her new role on October 2, 2024.
The letter announcing her appointment stated, “I have the pleasure of informing you that the Board of Trustees of McPherson University at its meeting of August 22, 2024, approved the recommendation of the selection panel of the governing council that you be appointed as the university’s Bursar.”
Adeofun holds a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the University of Ibadan (1987) and another in Accounting from Crescent University, Abeokuta (2013).

Additionally, she earned a Master’s in Business Administration from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, in 2011.
A Chartered Accountant since 2000, she became a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria in 2012 and is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management.
With over two decades of experience in both the public and private sectors, Adeofun is described as an accomplished administrator with expertise in financial management.

She succeeds Mr. Yemi Onilado, the university’s first substantive Bursar, who completed his two-term tenure in 2023.
