The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam, has accused some indigenes of the Nibo community of concealing information that could aid the police investigation into the recent attack that resulted in the deaths of 12 individuals.
During a visit to the community on Monday for an on-the-spot assessment of the situation, the Commissioner expressed concern that the relatives of the deceased had hurriedly buried the bodies, which he believes has hindered the investigation and the ability to identify those responsible for the violent act.

In a statement, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Tochukwu Ikenga, affirmed that the police command will intensify its efforts to uncover the identities of those behind the killings.
“Anambra State Police command remains committed to the ongoing investigation and to arrest the perpetrators of the cult-related killings in Nibo yesterday. The command also frowns at the act of some deceased’s relatives to bury evidence, suppress information, and disrupt the ongoing investigation,” he stated.

The PPRO noted that the Commissioner, during his visit with police operatives to the crime scene, emphasized that the command is dedicated to leaving no stone unturned in its pursuit of the assailants.
