Governor Alex Otti has officially approved a new minimum wage of N70,000 for workers in Abia State, set to take effect by the end of October.

The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, during a press briefing following this week’s Executive Council meeting in Umuahia.

He highlighted that the decision aligns with the Governor’s commitment to supporting the welfare of workers.

Kanu stated, “Payment of the minimum wage will begin in the next few days, as approved by the Governor.”
