DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the spokesperson for the Enugu State Police Command, revealed that “during the ritual, Chikwado was placed inside a coffin as part of a fortification process. However, the ritual went wrong, and Chikwado died during the process. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors confirmed his death. The body has since been moved to a mortuary for an autopsy.”

“The native doctor, Enuwa Odugu, has confessed to performing the ritual, admitting that Chikwado’s death was due to his failure to follow specific instructions tied to the ritual. Odugu also disclosed that he had conducted similar rituals in the past.”
