Michelle Obama has urged men to rally behind Kamala Harris’s campaign to become America’s first female president, cautioning that women’s safety could be jeopardized if Donald Trump is reelected.

She acknowledged that some men might consider voting for Trump out of frustration with the slow pace of progress, but cautioned that “your rage does not exist in a vacuum.”
“If we don’t get this election right, your wife, your daughter, your mother will become collateral damage to your rage,” she stated, pressing men to reflect on how their voting choices affect the women in their lives.
This rally in Kalamazoo marked Michelle Obama’s first campaign appearance since her speech at the Democratic National Convention over the summer.
Her comments were impassioned and direct in support of Harris.
“By every measure, she has demonstrated that she’s ready,” Michelle Obama said. “The real question is, as a country, are we ready for this moment?”
She urged the audience not to be swayed by misinformation about Harris, asserting, “This is somebody who understands you, all of you.”

Michelle Obama highlighted the challenges women face regarding their health, discussing issues from menstruation to childbirth, emphasizing that a momentary decision can mean life or death for mothers and babies.
“I am asking y’all from the core of my being to take our lives seriously,” she pleaded.

Following her remarks, Kamala Harris took the stage, promising voters that she would prioritize their interests, unlike Trump, whom she criticized for being self-centered.
“There is a yearning in our country for a president who sees the people, not just looking in the mirror all the time, but sees the people, who gets you and who will fight for you,” Harris declared.
This high-profile event followed Harris’s appearances with Beyoncé in Houston and Barack Obama and Bruce Springsteen in Atlanta, further emphasizing her campaign efforts.
