President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will travel to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday to participate in the upcoming Joint Arab-Islamic Summit, scheduled to begin on Monday, November 11, 2024.

The summit, which will address critical issues affecting the Middle East, is being convened at the invitation of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, following last year’s summit held in the same city.

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, shared details of the trip in a statement on Saturday.

He emphasized that one of the key themes of the summit would be the ongoing Israel-Palestinian conflict.

President Tinubu is expected to strongly advocate for an immediate ceasefire and call for renewed efforts toward a peaceful resolution.

Nigeria will also push for the revival of the two-state solution as a means of securing lasting peace in the region.

The President will be accompanied by several senior government officials, including Foreign Minister Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Minister of Information and National Orientation Alhaji Mohammed Idris, and Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed.

After the summit, President Tinubu will return to Abuja.
