Donald Trump has called on the Republican Party to contribute to the Democratic Party’s financial recovery, particularly to help Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign pay off its $20 million debt.
In a post on social media platform X on Sunday, Trump expressed surprise at the Democrats’ financial struggles despite their fundraising success in the 2020 Presidential Election.
Trump pointed out that, while the Democrats raised record amounts of money during the last election cycle, they were now facing significant financial pressure, with vendors and creditors squeezing them for payment.
He said that, given the Democrats’ current predicament, Republicans should consider helping out for the sake of unity and the country.
“I am very surprised that the Democrats, who fought a hard and valiant fight in the 2020 Presidential Election, raising a record amount of money, didn’t have lots of $’s left over,” Trump wrote.
“Now they are being squeezed by vendors and others. Whatever we can do to help them during this difficult period, I would strongly recommend we, as a Party and for the sake of desperately needed UNITY, do.”
Trump also emphasized that Republicans had plenty of funds left over from their campaign, noting that their greatest asset, “Earned Media,” was cost-effective compared to other campaign expenses.
He ended his post with a call to continue advancing his political agenda: “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Despite raising over $1 billion in less than four months following Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race, Kamala Harris’ campaign ended in significant debt after she lost to Trump.
