On Thursday, the Nigerian Senate confirmed the appointment of Ms. Omolola Oloworaran as the new Director General of the National Pension Commission (PENCOM).

The confirmation came after the Senate considered and adopted the report presented by the Senate Committee on Establishment and Public Service during plenary.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had earlier forwarded a letter to Senate President Godswill Akpabio requesting the Senate’s approval of Oloworaran’s appointment.

She had been appointed as the Director General of PENCOM in July 2024, initially serving in an acting capacity until the Senate’s formal confirmation, as required by the Pension Reform Act of 2014.
