The Oyo State government has revealed that approximately 15,000 candidates will participate in a computer-based test (CBT) as part of the recruitment process for various positions within its civil service.

Alhaji Kamoru Aderibigbe, Chairman of the Oyo State Civil Service Commission, made the announcement in Ibadan, stating that the examination will take place from Monday, November 25, 2024, to Thursday, November 28, 2024.

DAILY GAZETTE gathered that Governor Seyi Makinde had approved the recruitment of 900 new officers across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the state’s civil service.

Out of the 22,235 applications submitted, 15,000 have been shortlisted for the CBT. Aderibigbe emphasized that this recruitment exercise is a significant milestone for Oyo State, as it marks the first time in two decades that such a large-scale recruitment has taken place.

He also highlighted the recent recruitment efforts under the current administration, which included the hiring of 60 environmental health officers, 692 education officers, 30 state counsels, and 19 officers for the Ministry of Lands in the past few years.
