Former vice president and Presidential candidate of the people’s democratic Party in the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar on Saturday hosted Peter Obi, labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, in his Adamawa residence.
His visit follows Obi’s earlier meetings in May with other prominent figures from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), including former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido and ex-Senate President Bukola Saraki, at their homes in Abuja.
These meetings were notable as they marked Obi’s first encounters with his former political allies after his defection from the PDP to the Labour Party (LP) in May 2022.
During those discussions, Obi’s campaign spokesperson, Yunusa Tanko, revealed that the conversations revolved around strategies to reclaim Nigeria’s political direction, particularly from the control of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
