The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced the suspension of services at its headquarters in Sauka, Abuja, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, due to the presidential commissioning of its newly completed Technology Complex.

In a public notice signed by NIS spokesperson, DCI KT Udo, the agency informed the public that passport issuance and renewals requiring biometric capturing, as well as other immigration and banking services at the headquarters, will be temporarily halted.

Despite the suspension, the NIS online portal will remain operational, allowing the public to continue accessing services remotely.

Udo advised applicants and members of the public to plan their visits accordingly and noted that services will resume after the event.

He also apologized for any inconvenience caused by the shutdown and expressed gratitude for the public’s understanding.

For further inquiries, the public is encouraged to contact the NIS Service Contact Center at +234 802 181 9988, +234 708 060 7900 or visit the official NIS website at www.immigration.gov.ng.
