The Nigerian Army has successfully rescued four individuals who had been kidnapped and held captive in Ugbolu Forest, Delta State.
The rescue operation, carried out by troops from the 63 Brigade, was based on credible intelligence and took place on Monday, December 9, 2024.
The soldiers, after locating the kidnappers’ hideout, engaged in a fierce firefight with the criminals and eventually overpowered them.
According to Major Emmanuel Onoja, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, the victims had been held in captivity for several days, with the kidnappers demanding a large ransom for their release.
Following their rescue, the victims were provided with immediate medical care before being reunited with their families.
The Army’s statement emphasized that the operation effectively disrupted the kidnappers’ plans and brought much-needed relief to the victims and their loved ones.
The Nigerian Army also called on the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activities to security agencies, reaffirming the 63 Brigade’s commitment to eliminating criminal activities and ensuring the safety of Delta State residents.
