An Abuja Magistrate Court has reaffirmed Razak Olusola Sotayo as the legitimate National President of the Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria (MOUN).
The ruling came after Magistrate Emmanuel Iyanna determined that the court lacked jurisdiction over a case filed by Bobi Julius and nine others, who sought an injunction to remove Sotayo from office.
The court clarified that the dispute was an internal union matter, falling outside its scope, and emphasized that the challenge against Sotayo’s position had no merit.
The case, filed by Julius Bobi, was dismissed, with the Magistrate noting that it could not overrule the decision made by the union’s members.
In his response, the defendant’s lawyer, Mohammed Adamu, hailed the court’s decision, stating that the case was struck out due to its lack of substance, reinforcing the court as a pillar of justice for the common man.
Following the ruling, Sotayo expressed gratitude to his supporters for their unwavering loyalty and extended an olive branch to those who opposed his leadership.
He reassured members that MOUN, which represents all commercial motorcycle operators in Nigeria, is committed to fostering unity and combating the actions of bad actors within the industry.
