Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun arrived in Enugu State on Friday for a two-day official visit aimed at enhancing security and fostering stronger collaboration with local stakeholders.

Accompanied by key senior officers, including Deputy Inspector-General of Police for the South-East, DIG Frank Mba, and AIGs from various units, IGP Egbetokun engaged in discussions with state officials to improve security efforts in the region.

His visit included a courtesy meeting with Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, where they focused on strategies to enhance the state’s security framework.

Reaffirming the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to national peace and security, the IGP also visited the Enugu Council of Traditional Rulers.

There, he was welcomed by Chairman Igwe Samuel Asadu and other traditional leaders.

The IGP highlighted the importance of traditional institutions in supporting community-based security efforts and called for continued collaboration to tackle local security challenges.

While addressing officers, IGP Egbetokun emphasized the need for discipline, professionalism, and empathy in interactions with citizens, urging police personnel to maintain a respectful and decent character at all times while performing their duties.
