Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has humorously addressed the viral AI-generated image that portrayed him as an alhaji, a title typically given to men who complete the Hajj pilgrimage in Islam.

The image, which surfaced online in December 2024, showed Adeboye dressed in Islamic attire, sparking a mix of reactions from social media users.

Speaking at the first Holy Ghost Night of the year on January 4, 2025, Adeboye lightly acknowledged the image, saying with a smile, “I’m sure many of you saw that picture showing me as an alhaji,” eliciting laughter from the audience.

While he did not delve into the origin of the image, his tone made it clear that he distanced himself from the portrayal.

The image had confused some followers, given Adeboye’s long-standing position as a prominent Christian leader.

In his address, he warned against those who mock and spread falsehoods, stating that mockers may not live to see the end of the year.

However, he balanced his caution with a reminder of God’s desire for repentance rather than punishment.

During his sermon, titled The Glory Ahead, Adeboye also touched on global issues, urging prayers for peace amid rising global tensions. He expressed concerns over the possibility of a world war and prophesied a significant earthquake in 2025.

Despite the challenges, Adeboye reassured the congregation that God’s purpose for humanity remains steadfast, encouraging them to fulfill their divine missions on Earth.
