Dr. Doyin Okupe, a former presidential spokesperson, has lauded President Bola Tinubu’s recent official visit to Enugu, calling it a “game changer” for Nigeria, particularly the South-East region.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Okupe emphasized that the president’s heartfelt and candid remarks demonstrated his genuine commitment to the development of the South-East.

Okupe, who previously served as the Director-General of the Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Council, praised Tinubu’s open show of support for the region and its infrastructure needs.

He noted that the president’s visit highlighted his willingness to invest in developmental projects and strengthen the political bond between the South-East and the rest of Nigeria.

Reflecting on the late Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu’s belief that a lack of East-West political cooperation poses a threat to national unity, Okupe urged Tinubu to continue bridging divides across the country while prioritizing the welfare of Nigerians.

During his visit, Tinubu inaugurated several projects in Enugu State, including new roads, smart schools, and high-tech security equipment.

These efforts are seen as pivotal in fostering regional development and unity.
