Finland has opened applications for over 270 English-taught bachelor’s and master’s degree programs for the 2025 academic year, offering an exciting opportunity for international students to pursue higher education in one of Europe’s most innovative and student-friendly countries.

The application window runs from January 8th to January 22nd, 2025, with studies set to begin in September 2025.

Students can apply through the official Studyinfo.fi portal, where they can explore a broad range of academic programs across Finnish universities and universities of applied sciences.

The available programs span various disciplines, including engineering, business, social sciences, and humanities.

Applicants can choose from both bachelor’s and master’s programs, providing flexibility to match their academic and professional aspirations.

The joint application system allows candidates to apply to up to six programs with a single application, making the process simpler and more efficient.

Eligibility for the programs requires applicants to meet specific criteria. For bachelor’s programs, students must have completed upper secondary education or an equivalent qualification, while master’s programs require a relevant bachelor’s degree.

Additionally, applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency, with accepted tests including IELTS and TOEFL.

A new requirement for non-EU/EEA/Swiss students is an application fee, which became effective on January 1st, 2025.

Further details about the fee and other requirements can be found on the Studyinfo.fi website.

Finnish universities also offer merit-based scholarships for international students, which can help offset tuition fees.

These scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, and more information is available on the Study in Finland Scholarships page.

Applications for the 2025 academic year are now open, and prospective students are encouraged to submit their applications before the January 22nd deadline.

Admission results will be announced by the end of May 2025, with students required to confirm their study places upon acceptance.
