Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, a gospel singer, has been arrested after he was found in possession of the severed head of a woman believed to be his girlfriend.
The shocking discovery occurred near a church on Sunday, raising concerns of ritualistic practices.
A social media user, Arike, shared the shocking moment, tweeting, “I got the shock of my life when we apprehended a Yahoo ritualist with a human head (his girlfriend) inside a nylon close to our church during service. I never imagined witnessing something like this until it happened live today.”
Josephine Adeh, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), confirmed the arrest but clarified that the incident took place in Nasarawa State, not Abuja, and urged the public to ensure accuracy in reporting.
Witnesses on social media described how Ajayi was seen walking with a black nylon bag, attracting attention due to the flies surrounding it. Upon confrontation, a fresh human head was discovered inside the bag.
Ajayi allegedly admitted to having been in a relationship with the woman for one year, though this claim has not been independently verified.
Ajayi, also a content creator on TikTok, has faced public scrutiny, with many flooding his account.
In one video, he was heard saying, “No village person can stop them,” adding to the disturbing nature of the incident. The police are continuing their investigation into the case.
