President Tinubu,
The Federal Government has announced plans to distribute N75,000 to approximately 70 million of the most impoverished Nigerians by 2025.
This initiative was revealed by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, during an interview on Arise Television’s The Morning Show.
Yilwatda explained that the ministry aims to roll out the program nationwide, targeting all 36 states by the end of January 2025.
The goal is to register around 18.1 million Nigerian households through the National Identity Number (NIN) system.
“Our objective is to launch the program across the country by the end of January, focusing on collecting NIN details from about 18.1 million households, which will enable us to begin distributing payments,” the minister stated.
He further added, “The President’s directive is to target 15 million households, with an average of 4 to 5 individuals per household. This brings us to approximately 70 million people who will receive N75,000 each this year.”
