Minister of Youth Development, Hon. Ayodele Olawande Wisdom, has approved two slots for the Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria (FNYLPPLN) to be included in the Presidential Planning Committee for the upcoming National Youth Conference, Confab 2025.
This approval, announced in a communiqué following a meeting at the minister’s office in Abuja, marks a significant step toward boosting youth participation in national development.
Olawande stressed the need for youth involvement in shaping the future of Nigeria, particularly through the successful organisation of the National Youth Conference.
“The most pressing issue regarding youth engagement in Nigeria is ensuring the success of the National Youth Conference,” the minister noted.
He also pointed to the Presidential Initiative under the Tinubu administration, which is focused on addressing the historical exclusion of youth from key national processes.
Olawande explained that this initiative is part of the government’s renewed focus on youth inclusion, aiming to tackle challenges that have hindered youth progress in Nigeria.
The minister reassured the youth that the forthcoming confab would ensure an inclusive governance system that empowers young people.
He further applauded the launch of the Youth Activities Dashboard (YAD) initiative and encouraged the FNYLPPLN to collaborate with the Ministry of Youth Development to harness funding opportunities for youth empowerment programs and job creation across the country.
