Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State is mourning the death of his eldest brother, Sunday Makinde, who passed away in the early hours of Friday at the age of 65.

The news was confirmed by Chief Olumuyiwa Makinde, one of Sunday’s brothers, in a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, on Friday morning in Ibadan.

Sunday Makinde, who is survived by his siblings, children, and grandchildren, was a respected member of the family.

The governor has yet to publicly comment on the loss, but his brother’s passing marks a significant personal moment for the Makinde family.
