A devastating explosion occurred at Ugwu Onyeama, in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, on Saturday, claiming the lives of at least 15 people.
The explosion, which took place around 11:30am, was reportedly caused by a tanker explosion.
Eyewitnesses say the blast was so powerful that it rattled nearby passenger vehicles causing significant damage.
According to reports, the tanker, which was carrying fuel, exploded while attempting to navigate the busy Enugu-Onitcha expressway.
It is unclear what caused the tanker to catch fire or the actual number of casualties.
The magnitude of the explosion and the ensuing fire made it difficult for passersby to reach the site quickly.
