The Oyo/Osun Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has welcomed a new Area Comptroller, Joseph Adelaja, following the transfer of his predecessor, Dr. Ben Oramalugo, to the Seme border.

A statement issued on Saturday by the command’s newly appointed Public Relations Officer, Abdumalik Akintola, confirmed Adelaja’s assumption of office.

As the new comptroller, Adelaja is expected to oversee key operations, including revenue generation, anti-smuggling activities, and the enforcement of customs regulations across the command’s jurisdiction.

The Oyo/Osun Command has played a crucial role in tackling smuggling and boosting government revenue, having generated over 82 billion naira in 2024.

Adelaja also pledged to build on these achievements while implementing fresh strategies to further enhance the command’s effectiveness.
