Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has welcomed 50 political heavyweights who have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), assuring them of equal rights and privileges within the party.
Among the notable figures joining the APC are former Kaduna State Governor Muktar Ramalan Yero, Senator Shehu Sani, Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, NNPP’s gubernatorial candidate in the last election, and Alhaji Sani Shaaban, a former governorship aspirant.
Others include Senator Danjuma Laah, a former PDP senator representing Zone 3, Abubakar Mustapha, the former National Organizing Secretary of the PDP, and Ambassador Sule Buba, Nigeria’s former envoy to South Korea.
Addressing a massive crowd at Murtala Square during a mega rally on Saturday, Governor Uba Sani emphasized that all members—new or old—would enjoy the same status within the party.
He urged the defectors to inform their supporters that the APC remains open to welcoming more members.
According to him, the party’s growing popularity stems from its leadership at both the state and federal levels, and he expressed confidence in the APC’s continued dominance in Kaduna State and across Nigeria.
”In 2027, the electorate will vote overwhelmingly for the APC in all elections, from top to bottom. At the top, our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will be re-elected. At the state level, the party will secure victory in the gubernatorial, National Assembly, and State Assembly elections, by the grace of God,” he declared.
Governor Sani also assured that developmental projects would be implemented across Kaduna State without bias toward party affiliation, ethnicity, or religion.
”Politics is different from governance. We will be fair to all, whether or not they voted for us, because that is the oath of office we swore to uphold as leaders,” he stated.
Acknowledging that no leader is perfect, the governor urged citizens to hold their leaders accountable and help them correct mistakes.
He also reminded those in leadership positions that they would ultimately be judged by how they served the people entrusted to them.
