Saudi Arabia has confirmed the sighting of the Shawwal crescent, marking the end of Ramadan and the beginning of the new Islamic month.

As a result, Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, March 30, 2025.

The announcement was made on Saturday via Haramain’s official Facebook page, a recognized platform for the global Muslim community.

“The crescent moon for the month of Shawwal 1446 was sighted in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, Eid Al-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, March 30, 2025,” the statement read.

Eid al-Fitr, one of the most significant celebrations in Islam, marks the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan, during which Muslims observe fasting, prayers, and spiritual reflection.

The festival is traditionally marked by communal prayers, feasts, and acts of charity.
