Hon. Benjamin Obinna Mbeke, a former Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Poverty Reduction in Enugu State, has officially returned to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following the footsteps of his long-time political associate, Hon. Barr. Chijioke Edeoga, the former Labour Party governorship candidate in Enugu state.
Mbeke’s return was formalized at the Enugu East PDP monthly meeting held on Saturday, which Edeoga personally attended to witness the development.
In what appears to be a growing political realignment, several other notable Labour Party chieftains in Enugu East also rejoined the PDP.
DAILY GAZETTE reports that among them were Dr. Clement Okwor, Engr. Johannes Okolo, Chief Hon. Anike Nwoga, and many others.
Since Edeoga’s return to the PDP, the party has witnessed a wave of defections across the 260 political wards in Enugu State, strengthening its grassroots presence ahead of future elections.
