Authorities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have launched a manhunt after a black Toyota Hilux, assigned to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Nuhu Ribadu, was reportedly stolen during Friday’s Juma’at prayers in Abuja.

The incident occurred around 1:05 p.m. when the vehicle was parked opposite the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) complex in Area 10 while an ONSA official attended prayers at a nearby mosque.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the incident via his X (formerly Twitter) account, stating that the official returned after the prayers to discover the Hilux missing.

According to him, “a source said the theft was immediately reported to the Garki Police Division at approximately 2:00 pm, leading to a swift response by law enforcement.”

In response, the FCT Police Command launched an extensive stop-and-search operation across key checkpoints and all entry and exit routes in Abuja.

Confirming the incident, the police said investigations are in progress, and efforts have been intensified to apprehend those responsible and recover the stolen vehicle.

“The Command said it had intensified efforts to track down the fleeing suspects and recover the stolen Hilux,” an official noted.
