The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr. Mamman Giwa, has extended warm Easter greetings to the residents of the state and reassured them of the police command’s unwavering commitment to safety throughout the festive period and beyond.

In a goodwill message issued on his behalf by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, Giwa congratulated Christians in Enugu for joining their counterparts around the world to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

He emphasized the importance of strategic deployment of the command’s operational and intelligence assets to ensure public safety across the state.

Giwa has directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and heads of tactical and operational units to mobilize and coordinate their resources for maximum effect.

According to him, “supervisory and superior officers would be held liable for any lapses in their areas of responsibility.”

He further stated: “The command extends warm Easter wishes to all Christians in the state; we want all to celebrate in reverence of Jesus Christ, who is the reason for the season.

“Easter is a time of love, sacrifice and renewed faith. I call on residents to embrace peace, compassion and goodwill during the celebrations.

“The command wishes Enugu State residents a peaceful celebration.”

The commissioner also urged residents to remain law-abiding and security-conscious, noting the need for community support in maintaining peace and order.

He advised the public to report suspicious activities or individuals promptly to the nearest police station or through the command’s emergency lines: 08032003702 or 08086671202.
