At least five individuals have been rescued following the collapse of a building in the Ojodu-Berger area of Lagos on Saturday morning.
The structure, located on Oremeta Street and reportedly housing a local restaurant, caved in around 8 am, according to eyewitnesses.
Speaking at the site of the incident, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Damilola Oke-Osanyitolu, assured that rescue efforts were ongoing.
“Get to ground zero,” he said, noting that the operation aimed to locate any remaining victims trapped beneath the debris.
Although there were growing concerns about possible fatalities, the exact number of casualties could not be confirmed as of the time this report was filed.
