Gov. Mbah,
The Enugu State Government has announced the cancellation of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise initially scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025.
In an official statement released by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, the decision was made to ensure that candidates sitting for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), organized by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), are not hindered in accessing their examination centers.
While the government encouraged residents across the state to maintain cleanliness in their homes and communities, it clarified that there would be no restriction of movement on the said day.
Additionally, the Enugu State Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA), in a follow-up release dated Tuesday, April 22, 2025, reaffirmed the cancellation of the sanitation exercise and advised citizens to continue their personal and community sanitation efforts.
