Reverend Father Ibrahim Amos, the parish priest of Saint Gerald’s Quasi Catholic Parish in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has been released by his abductors.
The cleric, who was taken from his residence in the early hours of Thursday, regained his freedom around 10 pm the same day.
The news of his release was confirmed in a statement made available to DAILY GAZETTE on Friday by the Chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, Reverend Father Jacob Shanet.
According to the statement, Father Amos was freed without harm, and the church is grateful to security agencies and members of the public for their prayers, solidarity, and support during the ordeal.
Father Shanet commended the outpouring of concern shown by the faithful and well-wishers, describing it as a powerful reminder that the church does not stand alone in its mission to defend human dignity and life.
The cleric had been abducted by suspected bandits from his parish home in Kauru LGA.
